Better late than never: here are some photos from a couple of weeks ago when the children were engaged in a technology challenge. As part of our inquiry into Kotahitangi, we have been learning about team work and building some simple pieces of technology. This challenge was to build a plane using paper, straws and Sellotape.

Raincoat Check

As I mentioned previously I will be checking for waterproof raincoats. This will be happening on the last day of March, Tuesday 31 March.

This then, is the secret message, mentioned in the homework on Friday. Children can write this on a piece of paper and bring it to school to earn Totara dollars. (The deadline is this Wednesday 18 March.)

Secret message:

Raincoat check, March 31

Spelling City

Having thought some more about Spelling City, I won't be putting children's spelling lists on the Spelling City website. The problem is that children's lists are all very individualised-most of the words have been chosen from their writing. In other words, I would have to enter 31 different spelling lists!

However, I think is is possible for  children or parents to put their words on the website themselves. Let me know if that is possible.

The lists for the different groups will be ready on Friday 13 for the next lot of homework.

More instructions on Friday.

Motorboat Needed

Yet another post about camp! On Thursday May 7 children will be kayaking at Marahau and I would like a safety boat with a motor in the unlikely event of an emergency. Is there anyone out there who can help? We would need it from approximately 9 till 3.

FIRST POST

Hello everybody

This is Matua Scott's first post for 2015, with the help of Ruby and Cooper. I won't say too much now, in case it doesn't work.

However......children....have you talked to your parents about a raincoat for camp? It has to be good enough to keep you dry. We WILL do the 'hose test' on it at school next term.

Also, remember HOMEWORK BOOKS BACK TO SCHOOL ON THURSDAY. Matua Scott will stand on his head if all the books are back and homework is done.

Regards

Matua Scott
