Home work: week 3 and 4 Room 3
Time for you to be the teacher!
Look at your list of strengths from last week. Choose one and plan a 10 minute lesson on how to teach a small part of it.

Some examples: If your strength is swimming then you could plan a 10 minute lesson on how to teach how to do breaststroke. If your strength is art you could plan how to teach drawing with perspective. If your strength is science perhaps you could plan an experiment to show a chemical reaction. If your strength is rugby you can plan how to teach kicking skills.
You have two weeks to plan this 10 minute lesson in your homework book.

You actually will be teaching your lesson to a group of students, (about 6), so think carefully about what you will be doing. You will need to organise any equipment you need for your lesson so think about that before you plan.

As always, if you are stuck or need help– you only need to ask!

Home work week 2

Home work: week 2 Room 3
Getting to know ourselves something that really helps us in lives. Everybody has strengths and challenges and they are all different for each person. Strengths are things you feel you are confident to do. They are not just about things to do with school work! They can be to do with how you get on with others, or things you do outside of school as well (for example: biking, building things or gymnastics). Challenges are things that you do not feel comfortable doing.  Challenges are things we need to work on become confident doing them. These do not have to be about school work either!
Think about yourself and then:
Write down 4 strengths that you have.
Write down 4 things you find challenging.

Now talk to your parent or caregiver. Ask them to give you 2 examples of strengths and challenges they have, (writing this down is optional!).

WELCOME TO 2016!

I will have another go at getting a better photo with no one blinking soon, (was the best of the 8!)

Below is the homework for this week. I will put this up on the blog each week and your child will also bring home a copy in their homework books.

Thank you everyone for your warm welcomes.

Talia
 Home work: week 1, Room 3, 2016

In the senior school we have more rights and responsibilities. One very important example of this is the student council. Student council representatives get to decide, and have a voice on, many parts of our school life. They get to meet with the deputy principal and other school leaders to represent all the students in our school. Our class will vote for who will be on the council this year.

For your homework this week you have two choices:
1.       If you would like to be on the student council you must create a poster for your ‘campaign’ about why students should vote for you. You will need to be able to explain your poster to the class. The poster must include:
·         Your picture, (Talia can help with this if it is a problem).
·         Your name
·         Reasons why you would make a great student councillor

2.       If you do not want to be on the student council your homework is to write at least 8 sentences about the ways you will be a leader this year. You will be asked to share this writing.

Room 3 you are awesome and I know you can all do this. If you are having any trouble please come and speak to me – I am here to help J
